A warm welcome to the Sixth Form at International School Seychelles (ISS). We are a successful, welcoming, friendly and inclusive community and we strive for academic success for all our students. We also believe that happy, well-rounded and well-supported students are the most successful.
Whether you are presently a student in Year 11 at ISS, or a student at another school locally, or indeed elsewhere in the world, I hope that what you read here will encourage you to consider studying with us.
We pride ourselves on offering a broad and enriching curriculum that will prepare our students for their future destinations, which may be university, further education or employment. We offer a wide range of academic courses and endeavour to provide each student with a combination of subjects that will best suit their interests and needs.
We deliver a full programme of advice and guidance to help students choose subjects they will enjoy, and courses in which they will be successful. Our students are able to choose a programme of A-Level subjects to create a personal pathway suitable to their career aspirations and strengths. Though we are a non-selective school and will develop personal pathways for all of our students, we are mindful of the commitment and academic ability needed for students to be successful on a traditional A-Level programme. We aim to cater for the needs of all of our students whether this is on a traditional study programme or a more personalised programme suited to their needs and requirements.
Students benefit from excellent academic and pastoral support, with an individual monitoring and support programme in the form of a dedicated and experienced academic coach. Regular meetings are held between the academic coach and students to ensure their well-being and success.
At ISS we help our students to succeed by preparing them and providing opportunities for them to:
- Become intellectually and personally confident
- Be responsible, community-minded, global citizens – respectful and knowledgeable of different cultures
- Make informed decisions about their own education
- Develop resilience, creativity and ambition
- Take intellectual risks, provide solutions to problems and work well independently and as part of a team
- Build leadership skills
- Take responsibility for their personal well-being and be happy and healthy both inside and outside of school.
The vast majority of our students progress onto Higher Education, securing places at top universities across the globe. Once again, dedicated advice and guidance is on hand to help students plan for their futures whatever pathway they choose to follow.
We are committed to supporting the success of every student in our care. We believe that our strong pastoral focus, emphasis on developing students as global citizens, close academic monitoring and extracurricular opportunities makes our sixth form an outstanding place to study, work and learn.
I hope that you find all the information you need on this website. If you have any further questions, please contact the school. We look forward to receiving your application and discussing your personal pathway in more depth.
